Artist's Comments

I made this as a skin tone reference sheet. Sometimes it can be hard getting skin to look realistic. (Not that I go for that very often... ) I thought this might be useful to someone. I made the shin balls using the gradient tool.

The first quadrant (top left 9 squares) are the skin tone ranges from an asian/white person

The second quadrant is skin tone ranges from an african

The 3rd quadrant (bottom left 9 squares) is middle eastern

and the 4th quadrant is a white person with a tan (which you can see is very different from the middle eastern or african skin tones)

If you take a square in a quadrant and shade them with the square diagnol to it, you can ussually come up with some nice looking skin shading.

Just open the skin tones jpg in your art program, and use the eye dropper tool.

I hope that helps. :)
